Here's how you can do the same:

thrifty thursday #7
Finally, after much thought and deliberation a light bulb went off. I stopped at Home Depot on my way home from church and got my supplies. My total cost...NOTHING! That's right, you read correctly; nothing. No, I didn't get any discount...not even a five finger discount.
I did however, have to pay out for the frames for my project. Though, I didn't mind paying for those because they are something that I can use and reuse. Plus, I only spent $18 on the frames...doing a whole art project for under $20 is pretty good in my book. Also, if you had some old frames lying around the house you could always just spray paint them and get the same effect! Your costs could be much lower than mine...you could WIN!
Here's how I did it:

shopping spree for free
I did some of my Christmas shopping through MyPoints, sent some Valentine gifts and even a birthday gift through the site. Last week I traded in my points and my rewards came in the mail today! $50 in gift cards! That's right, I simply bought things I already was going to purchase and took an occasional survey and was rewarded with a shopping spree for me!
Are you interested yet? You should be! I love this site and it's completely free! To sign up simply visit www.MyPoints.com and create an account to being getting rewarded. Though, if you'd like extra points, email me (mrspeluyera@gmail.com) with your name and email address and I will 'invite' you to join. When you join through that link both you and I will be rewarded an extra 750 points!
What are you waiting for? Get your account started today and join me in a shopping spree for free!
hung up on organization
I knew I would need something that could house all of my inspiration and papers in my craft room. I just wanted something that would be pretty and personalized to do it. I knew right away that I would need a memo board of some type. I have made memo boards before and they are SO simple.
The hardest part of this project was finding the right fabric...and frame, I'm quite picky about my frames!

Happy Easter!
Here is my family after church. I left room for my husband to be photo-shopped in! Only 25 days until I get to go see him.
The Easter bunny even made a stop and dropped off some goodies for me!
My friend Bethany came with me this weekend.
My momma made one DELICIOUS Easter dinner for us!
She had yummy dessert, too.
I hope that all of you had just as wonderful of an Easter!

craft it up real cheap
Thrifty Thursday #6
This Thursday I've got something that ANYONE can do, and I mean it. As long as you can operate a standard electric iron, you can complete this project. Earlier this week I posted about some curtains I helped a friend make for her living room, well I came home and HAD to make some of my own.
4.18.2011
the proof is in the pudding....err, pictures
The one thing that will make the most impact with the least amount of effort it curtains. Most rental spaces come with blinds but adding curtains will really dress up the space.

one a day keeps the worries away
Once he left, I moved onto counting down until I get to fly to Texas and kiss and hug and love on my soldier!!
I mentioned my little countdown on Facebook. Don't worry I'm not one of those who put the number of days to go EVERY day on my status! Just from time to time, really. Well, a friend commented on my post with an absolutely fabulous idea for a countdown and I wanted to share it with you.

But, fear not my bloggies...I have some pictures of our living room that I took a few weeks ago...not sure why but, I'm glad I did!
It hasn't changed much at all since I took the pictures, so they are pretty accurate. The only difference right now...it that it's a MESS!

Thrifty Thusday #5
I got up that morning and decided that I was going to make something to wear with my dress. Ambitious, I know! Though, what I made turned out quite nice and I'm really happy with it. The best part, it was completely free to me and would only cost someone who didn't have the supplies on hand a tiny little enny bitty bit!

friday update #5
I am going to share with you our laundry closet/hallway...nook...whatever! The hallway leading to our guest rooms and guest bathroom has a closet where the washer and dryer hook-ups are. We were SO excited to finally be able to do laundry at our house, on our schedule...for FREE! We went to Best Buy (hello, reward zone = points = gift certificates = a happy husband = a happy wife....got it?) and found the Samsung front loading washer and dryer of our dreams. God COMPLETELY and TOTALLY provided for us, allowing us to get them for a steal of a price...about 1/4 off of the budget we'd allowed for them.
When our new ''family members arrived to our new apartment, we set them right up in their new homes...and realized the stupid closet doors wouldn't shut. So, my husband took them off and now they are leaning against the wall in my craft room. The laundry/storage closet was completely open and viewable by all who walk past. I had to do something...it needed some prettying up.
friday update...a little different
As you may have heard, there is threat of a government shut down...which means our military won't be paid yet still required to report for work. That means the money that pays for my rent and bills may not be coming in. My husband called me tonight to let me know that they most likely won't be paid on their next pay period and if they do it will only be half of what it should be.
Don't get me wrong, this post is not bashing the government or asking for pity or anything like that, I just want to explain to you faithful bloggies why I have been so unfaithful to you lately. I apologize...I promise I will get the pictures and such ready tonight and have a Friday update tomorrow...making it a Saturday update!

Thrifty Thursday #4
Good news bloggies, it's BACK!
This week I am going to share with you something that I had been wanting to make for a while, I just had no use for it. Then, some friends were getting married and I knew it would be perfect for this sweet, quirky couple.
4.05.2011
hard to say no
I snapped some pictures of the treasures I had to pass up and wanted to share with you the beauties that are to be found in thrift stores! I appologize for the less than wonderful quality of pictures, I took them with my phone.

best $1.99 EVER
I, of course got the essentials like angry birds, FaceBook, Twitter, Words with Friends and such. Though, I really wanted to start keeping track of our spending and budgeting better. So, I started searching in the app store and found quite a few. I wound up just picking one...I know, risky move! My favorite part is that it only costs $1.99! Score!
chillin' out, maxin', relaxin' all cool
Sahhhh-weeet. It was a beautiful day, I went to the beach with my sisters and got a nice little tan...well, base tan...to get me ready for my super goddess like tan I will have by May (when I get to fly to Texas to see my love).
Just thought I'd share with you the reasons why I was so 'silent' all week here in blogland.
