friday update #8

Here we are, another weekend is beginning today!  Let's kick off this weekend with a Friday Update!  This week I have done some decorating in my guest bedroom.  Mostly because my mother-in-law and sister-in-law were in town and I wanted the room at least partly done when they came.  Now, this room isn't even remotely what the wheels spinning in my head say it could be.  Though, I'm not displeased with how it is coming along.

Come on in, put your feel up, sit a spell...just don't mess up my house!  I have more guests coming this weekend!

Oh goodness, I'm not doing so well with getting these posts up in a timely manner.  I have a good excuse though, I was cleaning my house and then working and then I drove to my parents house for Easter weekend!  However, while cleaning my house, I finished some projects that I hadn't completed and took pictures for you!  I promise I was thinking about you and all that I had to share with you.

Today, I'm going to give you my first real update rather than just a reveal.  I'm so excited to show you what I've completed in a room, finally.

friday update #6

As I told you in an earlier post, I've been in bridal shower mode this week...I completely forgot to take any pictures for a Friday update!

But, fear not my bloggies...I have some pictures of our living room that I took a few weeks ago...not sure why but, I'm glad I did!

It hasn't changed much at all since I took the pictures, so they are pretty accurate.  The only difference right now...it that it's a MESS!

This weeks room isn't so much a room...it's a closet/hallway/wee little nook of our house.

I am going to share with you our laundry closet/hallway...nook...whatever!  The hallway leading to our guest rooms and guest bathroom has a closet where the washer and dryer hook-ups are.  We were SO excited to finally be able to do laundry at our house, on our schedule...for FREE!  We went to Best Buy (hello, reward zone = points = gift certificates = a happy husband = a happy wife....got it?) and found the Samsung front loading washer and dryer of our dreams.  God COMPLETELY and TOTALLY provided for us, allowing us to get them for a steal of a price...about 1/4 off of the budget we'd allowed for them.

When our new ''family members arrived to our new apartment, we set them right up in their new homes...and realized the stupid closet doors wouldn't shut.  So, my husband took them off and now they are leaning against the wall in my craft room.  The laundry/storage closet was completely open and viewable by all who walk past.  I had to do something...it needed some prettying up.

My husband left this week for his Basic Training and Technical School for the Air Force.  He will be gone for about seven months.  I told him that when he comes back, the whole house will probably look completely different due to my decorating ADD!  Sorry I've been a little slow on posting, it's been quite hectic getting used to being without him

This week, I am going to show you our master bedroom...it's not done (like all the other rooms) but it's well on the way.  I actually JUST saw a project that will definitely be done in there.

Well, Hello there Friday...so nice of you to drop in...must be time for a Friday Update!  This week's room reveal is....(drum roll, please)....the guest bedroom!

When looking for a new apartment, we KNEW we needed a guest bedroom.  With most all of our family and friend out of town, we needed somewhere to keep 'em when they drop in.  Our last apartment's 'guest room' was a futon in a 'cubby' of the living room...not so welcoming!

I am so happy to announce that anyone who comes to stay with us will now have a WHOLE room rather than a corner.  So come on in, tour our guest bedroom...

Time for another update on the rooms in our apartment.  Last week I shared with you out guest bathroom (completed only because we used stuff we already had from our previous apartment).  From here on out...don't expect such great looking rooms....just yet!!

This week I am sharing with you the room that I have been MOST excited about for the past few months...my craft room.

As you may know (I've only mentioned it a million times because we are SO excited) my husband and I just recently moved.  Now we've got a whole house to decorate!  Knowing me, I will never be finished decorating, rearranging and redoing all the rooms we now have.  So every Friday I will show you what 'updates' I've made in my house.  Some weeks it may be one room, other weeks (when I get motivated) it may be more.  This will 1) help to motivate me in getting all those projects on my 'to-do list' checked and 2) hopefully inspire SOMEONE, SOMEWHERE to create something wonderful in their own space.


This week we will focus on the one room we have done...the guest bathroom.  I have to admit, the only reason this room is done is because it's everything we had in our only bathroom in our last apartment.  But hey, at least it's done...right?!
