save that money, honey!

I shared with you a few days a god how you could amkes a little bit of money from your blog with Social Spark.  Today, I've got a few ways for you to save some money!

First, I'm sure most of you have heard about Groupon, the site that posts daily deals in your area with savings of up to like a million percent or something.  I had heard of the site, but never really looked into it or cared much about the deals.  That is, until I found some that really caught my eye!  I've bought $20 gift cards to Barnes and Nobles for just $10 from Groupon as well as 5 movie rentals from Blockbuster Express for only $2! Right now they have $10 for a 20 page photobook from Shutterfly...I mean, come on...that's AWESOME!

Second, I have mentioned a site called MyPoints before but it is totally worth a second mention!  How does it work you ask?  Let me explain.  You visit www.mypoints.com before you purchase something online, search through their merchants and see if the store you are wanting to purchase from is included in their list.  Stores like Target, JcPenny, Kohl's, Barnes & Noble, Office Depot and SOOOO many more are included on their list.  You then click in the store you are wanting to purchase from and it takes you directly to their site and you purchase as normal.

By clicking through MyPoints, it can track what you spent and give your points per dollar.  Some stores are as high at 8-10 points per dollar.  Once you've racked up your points, you trade them in for gift cards to some pretty spectacular places.  In the past I've gotten gift cards to Pizza Hut (one of my all time favorite places) and Lane Bryant.  You can also opt in to emails which will help you earn points just for clicking through the email.  Other ways to earn points is by registering for newsletters and such through MyPoints and taking surveys.  They have a promotion going on throughout this year that if you make three purchases of $10 or more, you will be rewarded with the point equivalent to a $10 gift car...being rewarded for purchasing things I already was planning on purchasing?  Yes, please!!

To join MyPoints, you can go to www.mypoints.com and register for free.  Though, if I 'refer' you, we will both get 750 extra points when you make your first purchase of $20 or more!  To do this, simply send me an email with your name and email address in it and I will 'refer' you through their website...they don't have a referral link code thingie like everything else...makes it complicated!  For being such a pal and loyal bloggie, I will also include in the email a coupon code for 10% off at my Etsy shop, www.mrspeluyera.etsy.com!!

Another daily deal site I enjoy looking at is called Living Social.  I've not purchased from this site...yet.  However, they have some pretty enticing deals on vacations and getaways!  By going to Living Social and signing up, you will be rewarded with five 'deal bucks' to use towards your first purchase!
